Montagu is the "Mountain Mecca" of the Western Cape, the gateway to the Little Karoo and centrally located on the longest wine route in the world, Route 62. This jewel of the Cape, is only two hours from Cape Town and the best way to travel the Garden Route. Welcome to a charming little town! The winding roads and mountain ranges offer the tourist a most rewarding and relaxing scenic experience. The town has many museums and war relics to be admired. Some award-winning wines have been produced locally. However, Montagu is best known for its famous hot mineral springs, which have been attracting visitors for hundreds of years.
